Meet Adam Chaddock

Adam P. ChaddockAdam is an equity partner with QJHPC. He was born and raised in Peoria, Illinois. During high school, he was captain of the wrestling team and focused much of his time and efforts towards maintaining his wrestling weight of 125 lbs (quite a challenge for 6' teenager). After high school, Adam moved on to the University of Illinois where he was a history major and enjoyed participating on the nationally ranked Mock Trial team. What would he have done with a history degree if not for law school? Adam also obtained his juris doctorate from the University of Illinois. While obtaining his J.D. was important, the best thing to happen to Adam during law school was meeting his beautiful and brilliant wife, Sarah. Adam and Sarah met while serving together on campus wide student government. She was student-body vice president, while he was the law school representative.

Adam always knew that after completing law school he would return home to Peoria. His parents, Phil and Ellen, and his sister and her family all remained in Peoria. His close relationships with his family, and his love for Peoria both caused him to return home. After spending a summer during law school with Quinn Johnston, he knew that the firm was the perfect fit for him. Fortunately, he was able to convince Sarah to return to Peoria with him after she finished her Masters Degree at U of I. Adam started with Quinn Johnston in 2001, and he and Sarah were married in 2003.

His wife and family call Adam naturally argumentative and adversarial, so it is no surprise that he loves the complex civil litigation practice that he has developed at Quinn Johnston. He feels at home in the courtroom and in front of a judge or jury. Adam is naturally defense-minded and takes personally the challenge of defending businesses, doctors or individuals in litigation. Not only does Adam love his practice, but he also loves his firm. Adam has never practiced law any place but Quinn Johnston. Nor does he intend to practice anywhere else. He is a Quinn Johnston "lifer." In fact, just this month, Adam celebrated his 10 year anniversary with the firm. He considers himself lucky to have spent the first ten years of his career practicing with and learning from such a talented group of litigators. He has practiced primarily with Murv Pretorius, Greg Cerulo, and Kevin Miller, and considers these three attorneys his valued mentors.

Adam and Sarah have two adorable girls, Abigail (3) and Lillian (11 months). Adam and Sarah (and now Abigail) bleed orange and blue and closely follow University of Illinois athletics. During football games, Adam and Abigail can be heard chanting I -L -L and I -N -I. The family loves to travel, and took their first family trip to Walt Disney World this March. They took a detour to the beach on Marcos Island. Adam recounts seeing Abigail playing on the beach and in the surf for the first time as one of his happiest travel memories. While Adam has little time outside of family time and the long hours defending his clients at Quinn Johnston, he does also serve as the inaugural president of his neighborhood's home owners' association. He had no idea how much time and effort would be involved in founding an HOA in a new neighborhood and in dealing with a diverse group of neighbors. He wonders how he let Sarah talk him into running for the position.
