Newsletter Feature: Gina Steinsultz

I was born July 2, 1969, in Pekin to Patsy and Gerhardt Vonderheide. I am the middle child in between two sisters, Gail and Lisa. My fondest memories of my childhood were camping/traveling with my Aunt Barb and Uncle Jack, who had no children of their own. I graduated from Pekin Community High School in 1987.

I currently live in Pekin with my dog, Tobi, and my cat, Jasmine. My greatest accomplishment in this life is my son, P.J., who just turned 21 in December. I love my family and spend as much time with them as I can. In my free time, I am an avid walker and gardener and spend lots of time with two of my nephews, Lucas and Landon. I also like to spend time with friends and travel with my boyfriend of two years, Darin Reed.

When I applied for the receptionist position at QJHPC 15 years ago, I was very much looking for a change of pace. I had no legal experience but had worked in the insurance industry for 10 years. I also was very unsure about starting all over in a new field as a divorced mother of a then 5 year old little boy. When I interviewed with Paul Sullivan, the office administrator at the time, I was brutally honest with him about my hesitancy to make a job change, but Paul was consistent in his feeling that I was a good fit for the firm and that I would enjoy the family aspect that the firm offered. I always laugh when I think about what I put him through during my interview! By the end of the interview, he had convinced me a move to the Quinn family would be a positive one.

In my years at Quinn, I have had the opportunity to learn many different aspects of the office from the reception area to the never ending secretarial duties, as well as a more recent induction into the world of billing and accounting. I love having a varied and somewhat fast-paced daily agenda.

I am a creature of habit and a nester. I am painfully slow at making life altering decisions but once I dedicate myself to something or someone, I am somewhat of a lifer. I hope that in the year 2026, I can look back at a 30-year milestone of being a member of the Quinn Team. I will always dedicate myself to doing the best job I can and to learning new and interesting aspects of the firm and the legal industry. That is, unless I finally win the lottery, ....but I do promise to send my co-workers a postcard from whatever tropical destination I call home!
